Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

The other night I was craving a burger and fries, but I didn’t have any of the makings in my house. Here’s my burger and fries redux: a veggie burger with avocado and salsa and oven-baked sweet potato fries. It was a lot healthier, much easier to make, AND I didn’t have to leave my house in the cold. These are the MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Veggie Burgers and they’re some of my favorite frozen veggie burgers. I’m definitely not a vegetarian, but I eat a few meatless dinners a week. Served with Harpoon UFO White, one my favorite beers, in my fancy beer glass that I picked up at the Harpoon Brewery!


On to the good stuff: My absolute favorite homemade cookies. I can’t take credit for the recipe. My mom has been making these cookies as long as I can remember, but the recipe is the Quaker Oats Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies with one tweak: replace the raisins with chocolate chips. They are the most amazing, chewy, cinnamon-y, chocolatey cookie out there. And they are fan favorites according to everyone I have ever baked them for!


If you buy a gigantic container of Quaker Oats, the recipe is on the lid, but you can also find it online!
